This month we will be discussing different holidays. We will be talking about our families, how to make a good choice and being kind to the people around us. We will be discussing different traditions and discussing seasonal vocabulary. We will be working on answering and asking questions related to these topics.
Our vocabulary will include; tree, lights, snow, snowballs, stockings, gingerbread men, reindeer, chimney, candles, bells, wreaths, presents, etc.
We will be talking about the color red, a triangle, letters F and G, and numbers 1-10. We will be beginning our discussion of rhyming words as well. What words sound the same and why.
We will also be working on counting and patterning skills. We will be working on counting sets up to 10. We will also be working on creating AB and ABC patterns.
We will be reading The Little Gingerbread Boy, The Snowy Day, and The Gift.
We will be having a holiday party on the last day of school before Winter break. More information about the party will be sent home closer to the date. I will be asking for parents to bring items to help make the party special. We hope to see you there! It is a fun day to spend time together as a class.
